Terms of Service

1. Who you're contracting with
These Terms govern your use of the Lumen service ("Lumen", "we", "us"), operated by LUMEN. By creating an account, uploading photos, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms.
2. The service
Lumen is an AI-assisted looksmaxing tool that analyzes user-submitted photographs and returns observational feedback, softmax suggestions, product ideas, and hardmax considerations. Output is informational, is not medical, dental, surgical, psychological, or professional advice, and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (or have parental consent where permitted) to use the service.
3. Account & accuracy
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. You agree not to: (a) use Lumen unlawfully or fraudulently; (b) upload photos of any person without their consent, or any photo of a minor that is not your own child where you hold parental authority; (c) upload sexual, harassing, hateful, or otherwise unlawful content; (d) infringe intellectual property or privacy rights; (e) attempt to probe, scan, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the security or integrity of the service; (f) introduce malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access; or (g) resell, redistribute, or use Lumen output to harass, defame, or "rate" other people without their consent.
5. AI output & accuracy disclosure
Lumen uses AI models to analyze 2D photographs. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. It is not medical-grade and must not be relied upon for clinical, surgical, or diagnostic decisions. You are responsible for how you interpret and act on Lumen's output, including any decision to pursue cosmetic procedures, products, or routines. We may filter, refuse, or moderate prompts, photos, or outputs at our discretion.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos and information you upload. You grant LUMEN a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you and to operate, secure, and improve the service. If a third party reports that content you uploaded infringes their rights, contact us and we will review and may remove the content; repeat infringement may result in account termination.
7. IP ownership
The Lumen service, including its software, models, prompts, scoring methodology, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by LUMEN and its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your selected plan. You may not reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the service.
8. Payments, subscriptions & taxes
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, taxes, and refund mechanics are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms in addition to these Terms.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Lumen available, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for: material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends; we may delete your data after a reasonable period.
11. Warranties & liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to LUMEN (via Paddle) in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence).
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify LUMEN against third-party claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the service or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of LUMEN's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise.
